There's a car outside the studio
The game starts on Hollywood Boulevard beside a car. The studio is to the right, and its doorman won't have Seymour. Is there anything to do here first?
Nudge 1Where to look
It's Seymour's own car. Action (Space, or A on a controller) works on more than objects: try it while standing at things that look like doors.
Nudge 2A stronger push
Press action standing at the car's door: Seymour climbs in. Have a look in the footwell.
Nudge 3Almost there
Walk right inside the car and press action at the thing lying low on the right. To get out again, jump onto the seat and press action there.

Stand at the car and press action to get in. Walk right and press action to pick up a cool pair of shades from the footwell. Jump left onto the seats and press action to climb back out onto the street.
Why it works
Doors, car doors and hut doors in this game are entered with the action key, not by walking into them. The shades are the first thing the game wants you to carry: the next screen shows why.
