Getting across the river
Right of THE UMBABWE BANK the river goes on and on. Seymour says "THIS LOOKS LIKE A NICE PLACE TO GO BALLOONING!", but nothing happens.

A balloon without air doesn't fly. You need something to blow it up with: a cyclist will have one.

Carry the big balloon and the bicycle pump and stand on the patterned spot on the bank (the right-hand end of the jetty), then press action. Seymour pumps the balloon up and floats across THE UMBABWE RIVER to THE UMBABWE ISLAND. To come back, stand at the left end of the island with both and press action again.
Why it works
The ride starts only on that tile with both objects carried, and the way back needs them too, which leaves one free slot: see Bringing everything back from the island.
